SYNOPSIS

Originally released in 2001 on First Impression Music, Autumn in Seattle features Japanese jazz pianist Tsuyoshi Yamamoto alongside bassist Ken Kaneko and drummer Toshio Osumi. Recorded in Tokyo, the album brings together jazz standards and classic film themes, including “Misty,” “The Way We Were,” and “Theme from Spartacus,” alongside Yamamoto’s original title composition. Known for his blues-inflected phrasing, lyrical touch, and expressive sense of swing, Yamamoto delivers a series of intimate, understated performances supported by the trio’s effortless interplay. Produced by Winston Ma and engineered by Yoshihiko Kannari, the recording also reflects the exceptional sound quality associated with Yamamoto’s celebrated work for Three Blind Mice.
