ZSTHEZS is a record listener, crate digger, groove chaser, and all-around vinyl head, splitting time between Shanghai and New York. He’s also done stints in London and Brussels.

ZSTHEZS enjoys the process of putting a record on and lightly dropping the needle in the outermost groove. It is infinitely more pleasurable to him than thumbing through an on-screen music app.

➋ Anamnesis
ZSTHEZS’s vinyl obsession kicked off in kind of a weird way, through collecting KAWS art. As a fan, he got hooked on the album covers KAWS designed for Kanye’s 808s & Heartbreak, Travis Scott’s The Scotts, and others. That was his first real brush with records—didn’t even know they were a thing before that.
➎ Collective & Community
Typically, ZSTHEZS is a homebody. But when he steps out, he is either buying records or on his way to buy records. Thus, RFD. was founded to dig deeper into record culture around the world and to build a community that shares the joy of a record spinning.
➌ Nowadays
The deep dive started in 2020, when ZSTHEZS copped his first turntable and actually started spinning wax for real. Since then, it’s been a full-on love affair with vinyl.
