Each tag represents a distinct and verifiable characteristic of the record, allowing collectors to understand important details about a particular release without having to work through lengthy descriptions or technical notes.
Every Record Tag has its own dedicated icon. These icons are displayed throughout individual record pages, creating a visual shorthand that allows users to quickly identify key attributes such as Original, Reissue, Promo, Mono, Heavyweight, and other relevant characteristics.
By combining standardized terminology with a consistent visual language, Record Tags makes complex release information easier to read, compare, and navigate while preserving the level of detail required by serious record collectors.

Overview
Record Tags uses a fixed set of 35 tags, organized into three sections and twelve categories.
Every applicable tag must follow the predefined hierarchy and display order. The sequence is fixed and must never be changed based on rarity, perceived importance, marketing emphasis, alphabetical order, visual preference, or the order in which information appears in source material.
When a tag does not apply, it is simply omitted. The remaining tags retain their original relative order.
The sorting hierarchy is:
Section → Category → Tag
The twelve categories are numbered consecutively across the entire system, from Category 1 through Category 12. Category numbering does not restart within each section.

Rule 5: Marketing Priority Does Not Affect Tag Order
A feature may be the primary selling point of a release without receiving priority in the Record Tags sequence.
Rarity, collectibility, price, promotional emphasis, or visual prominence must never alter the predefined order.
A Signed Limited Edition, for example, still places Signed at the end because Signed occupies position 34.
Rule 3: Preserve Internal Category Order
When multiple tags apply within the same category, their predefined order must be maintained.
For Category 7: Pressing / Audio Technology:
Heavyweight Vinyl → All-Analog → Direct Metal Mastering
Therefore:
Heavyweight · AAA
AAA · DMM
Heavyweight · DMM
or:
Heavyweight · AAA · DMM
The sequence must never be reversed.
Display Rules
Rule 1: Display Only Applicable Tags
Only tags that objectively apply to the specific release or copy should be shown.
Non-applicable tags are omitted completely.
No empty positions or placeholders are retained.
Rule 4: Never Interleave Categories
A tag from a later category must never be moved ahead of a tag from an earlier category.
For example:
Colored Vinyl belongs to Category 9
Box Set belongs to Category 10
Limited Edition belongs to Category 11
A commercially described "Limited Edition Colored Vinyl Box Set" must therefore appear as:
Colored · Box · Limited
not:
Limited · Colored · Box
Record Tags follows a structured metadata hierarchy, not natural-language modifier order.
